From South Africa to Your Market

Food-export arrangements depend on the product, origin, destination, Incoterm, temperature regime and buyer requirements. Cape Origin Foods coordinates the relevant parties and information to support an organised shipment process.

Export Documentation

Cold-Chain Coordination

Containerised Shipping

Document requirements may include commercial, customs, transport, health, veterinary, phytosanitary, origin or product-specific records. The exact document set is confirmed for the product and destination before shipment.

For temperature-sensitive cargo, the required handling and temperature regime must be agreed in advance. Cold-chain arrangements may involve the producer, packhouse, cold store, transporter, terminal and shipping line.

Depending on the product and transaction, cargo may move in dry or refrigerated containers. Equipment availability, loading configuration, transit time and shipping schedule are reviewed as part of the commercial offer.

Port & Shipment Coordination

The operational flow may include packing or processing, inspection, documentation, inland transport, cold storage, port handling, container loading and vessel dispatch. Responsibilities are allocated according to the agreed Incoterm and contract.

Destination Requirements

Quotations may be structured using an agreed Incoterm such as EXW, FCA, FOB, CFR or CIF where appropriate. Available terms depend on the product, destination and transaction and are confirmed in the quotation.

Typical Shipment Flow

Buyer requirement → Supply confirmation → Packing or processing → Quality/document preparation → Inland logistics → Port and container handling → International dispatch
